Matisse

This week we looked at the work of Henry Matisse.

This is acrylics on canvas pad & done mostly with palette knife & lots of modelling paste.

I'm not sure if I'll ever be drawn to this style of painting. The odd colours in the face just look so "wrong" to me although I know there's no right or wrong in art. Although I quite enjoyed the semi-abstract on our previous project, there's something about it on portrait painting that just seems weird to me.
